Take a deep breath of relief. . . the answer is NO. You do not have to get naked for your boudoir session.

In fact, you can even do a “boudoir” session fully dressed! We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all philosophy here at KJMarie Photography, in fact I take great measures to ensure that you are in the driver’s seat of where the creative direction goes for a uniquely personalized session, tailored specifically to your unique vision and personal preferences!

Once you’re ready for a Boudoir Session - an experience that is both exhilarating and empowering - you help to determine where we want to take it based on your comfortability levels & your reason for doing the session.

Are you doing this as a wedding/anniversary gift for your partner? Are you doing this as a celebration of a major milestone? Are you doing this session to turn the page of a new chapter in your life? Are you doing this session to see yourself from the eyes of someone who loves yourself fully? Are you doing this session to shed off the burden of guilt and shame that society has placed on you and to liberate yourself from it all? Or just to Celebrate and embrace your uniqueness or femininity?

I completely understand the anxiety of, “What should I wear?!” and don't worry, this is why I provide well thought-out guides, wardrobe advice, consult calls, and can even use video chats and create mood boards to help you decide which direction you’d like your session to go in!

With all of that being said, if you’re intrigued by the idea of being photographed in the nude yet not comfortable with full exposure, you can be photographed naked without actually revealing anything. . . leaving a little (or a lot) of room to the imagination is always a good thing!

You don't have to do anything at all that you're uncomfortable with throughout your entire session- as you being uncomfortable is definitely not our goal here.

In fact, it's quite the opposite. I highly encourage you to relax and let this be a time that you treasure and embrace every little bit of the experience and your body and try your best to just feel good & let loose. This is your time to shine, and I can guarantee you that I will be your #1 hype girl. I'm also known to blurt out silly things like "Slay baby Slay" & I'll constantly tell you how gorgeous you are and remind you to push your butt out some more. ;)

I will guide you and pose you so that you can feel 100% comfortable and at ease & so you can just let your inner beauty radiate throughout your final images!!

Implied Nudity

Let's explore the range of comfort levels by first addressing implied nudity. Yes. You will most likely have to be naked during your session if you want these kinds of photos, or close to it. I personally recommend bringing a thong that's close to your skin color. However just keep in mind that, your photos do not need to expose any of your lady bits. Implied nudity is just that. The viewer knows that you are nude but there is so much still left to the imagination. It is just beautiful to see a woman’s curves without a bra strap interrupting the lines of the body.

Implied nudity can be achieved in a number of different ways. A thoughtful placement of bed linen can be both exposing yet leaving some modesty as well. Lighting and shading in the right areas can also achieve a bit of mystery & appeal!


Fully Clothed

Being fully clothed is rarely known as an option in the boudoir photography world.

However, here at KJMarie Photography I want you to know that it is an option and if this is where your comfort level is, that is perfectly fine with me! Our space is a place where you are free to express who you are and explore exactly who you want to be, and how you want to feel. If this means your boudoir outfits include a dress instead of a bra and panty set or boxers & a t-shirt, that is not only okay, it is 100% encouraged! I encourage you to just be yourself.

No matter what your goals or style, We can totally achieve your desired look and explore your style to create incredibly sensual and unique images that you can cherish!

Plus, nobody ever said lingerie was for everybody, so just bring in your favorite dress and body suit or maybe even a t-shirt and booty shorts for your next boudoir session! You may be surprised how sexy you can look & feel when you are wearing something that you're comfortable and confident in!
